Job Overview

The Practice Lead is responsible for providing clinical leadership within the Office of the Senior Practitioner to promote and protect the rights of individuals with disabilities who may be subject to restrictive practices.

This role supports the multidisciplinary team in implementing positive behaviour support and reducing and eliminating restrictive practices, ensuring consistency and quality in service delivery. The incumbent also mentors and supervises staff, contributes to research on restrictive practices, and collaborates with external agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced clinical expertise to support the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality services.
  • Support the Senior Practitioner by providing strategic leadership in clinical practice.
  • Contribute to the development of education and information programs for the disability services sector.
  • Coordinate the allocation of applications from disability services providers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the use of restrictive practices across all services.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant qualification in an allied health professional field, registration with the relevant National Board, and Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration NDIS Endorsed. They will also have at least five years' practical experience as an allied health practitioner and postgraduate qualifications in health and/or disability service administration.
