Amazon Logistics is seeking a Operations Supervisor to collaborate with the Operations Shift Manager in driving innovation and execution within transportation networks. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate a team of individuals to meet targets and productivity expectations aligned with company goals.
This position involves tracking attendance and work flow, as well as working alongside the Operations Shift Manager to identify and rectify issues as they arise.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of a culture emphasizing health and safety practices through compliance with legislation and policy.
- Assist daily management of department duties.
- Act as deputy for the Operations Shift Manager when required.
- Conduct debriefs of staff and ensure accurate completion of paperwork.
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assign tasks to staff as needed to support workflow and daily metrics.
- Ensure sufficient resourcing for the function, including call-outs for training needs, absence, performance management, coaching, and continuous monitoring of department productivity.
- Provide training to new associates to equip them with necessary knowledge for task completion.
- Collaborate with the Operations Shift Manager in tracking, trending, and reporting of departmental metrics.
- Assist the Operations Shift Manager in analyzing reasons behind success and failure in meeting departmental and Delivery Station goals.
- Track and report hours and schedules for associates.
- Address process-related area issues as needed.
- Maintain high standards for equipment defect reporting.
- Basic Qualifications:
- Experience managing teams.
- Experience with planning, performance metrics, and process improvement.
- Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Experience in logistics.
- Data analysis skills.
