Maintenance Officer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive individual to join our property team as a maintenance officer. This is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repairs, and maintenance of our properties across Sydney.

As a maintenance officer, you will perform general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, plastering, and painting. You will also inspect properties to ensure safety, compliance, and presentation standards.

You will operate and maintain tools and equipment, completing required safety documentation. Additionally, you will assist with the coordination of external contractors and support the property coordinator in maintaining the property portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have a qualified trade background, demonstrated experience in property maintenance, and the ability to assess maintenance issues, prioritize tasks, and work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, plastering, and painting
  • Inspect properties to ensure safety, compliance, and presentation standards
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment, completing required safety documentation (JSA/SWMS)
  • Assist with the coordination of external contractors
  • Support the Property Coordinator and Service Desk Officers in maintaining the property portfolio
