About the Role

We are seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel and Compliance Expert to join our Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) team at Novigi Pty. As a key member of our organization, you will provide effective and commercially practical legal advice across a broad spectrum of matters, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Advice and Support: Providing legal guidance to our leadership team and employees on a wide range of issues including contract, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
  • Contract Management: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to ensure they are legally sound and protect our interests.
  • Risk Management: Anticipating and identifying legal risks and developing strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Data Privacy: Playing the Data Protection Officer role with support from the team, developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures.
  • Compliance: Monitoring data privacy laws and handling data breaches, ensuring we comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Australian law degree or Juris Doctor
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • An understanding of the Privacy Act
  • Experience working in a technology or software company (ideally in the financial services or superannuation sector)
  • Exposure to technology contracts, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business
What We Offer:

A competitive salary package of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
