Housing Support Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Housing Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work within our Supporting and Securing Tenancies Specialist Homelessness Program, providing critical support to individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position with 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm). Based in Port Macquarie, you will report to the Service Delivery Manager.
Key Responsibilities- You will be allocated a caseload of people from diverse backgrounds and work closely with them to secure stable housing that is safe and affordable.
- Develop and implement individual support plans in partnership with your customers, ensuring their needs are met and they have access to mainstream and specialist services.
- Provide general advice, advocacy, and mentoring to empower your customers, promoting independence, physical wellbeing, and informed choice.
- Establish and maintain links with the private rental sector and service providers to understand housing options and negotiate with key stakeholders to collaborate with the broader sector.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks, such as progress notes, customer assessments, and program outcome reports.
- A strong set of values aligning with our organizational values of passion, integrity, and respect.
- Relevant qualification in Community Services, Case Management, Mental Health, or Disability, or equivalent industry experience.
- Case management experience within the housing/homelessness sector.
- Experience working with people with complex needs.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and reporting systems.
- A current NSW Drivers licence and willingness to travel within the local area.
- Rostered days off (RDOs)
