About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Gas Portfolio Analyst to join our Integrated Gas business at Origin Energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) gas portfolio, including LNG feed. Your expertise will be crucial in providing market insight and direction to the business on how to optimize commercial opportunities in line with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Seek out opportunities to maximize the value of the APLNG portfolio by maintaining strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
  • Drive the daily optimization of the APLNG portfolio through negotiating short-term transactions
  • Monitor price, demand, weather, and gas flows in the assigned gas market and devise strategic responses in close consultation with management and relevant team members
  • Manage and execute daily nominations of gas quantities and analyze nomination output files
  • Short to medium-term portfolio balancing
  • Provide input to contract creation, gas nominations, and process updates
  • Prepare reports and provide insights on market trends and operations
About You

We are looking for a natural problem solver who enjoys being challenged and working in a fast-paced environment. You should be able to demonstrate natural leadership ability and commitment to high standards, along with the ability to have tough conversations and drive outcomes.

We encourage applications from individuals with a strong background in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Commerce, or Economics. Advanced Excel, VBA, and Power BI data visualization skills are highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, are essential.
