Workplace Health and Safety Specialist

As part of our commitment to excellence in workplace health and safety, we are seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Metricon.
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating site inspections, providing guidance on safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with all relevant WHS Acts and Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement Work Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (WHSMS) and ensure compliance.
• Facilitate amendments and provide guidance to the OH&S implementation process at site level.
• Complete reporting on WHS performance and provide WHS advice to Site Managers.
• Identify WHS training requirements for site staff.
• Assist with assessment of subcontractor documentation and new contractor pack submissions.
• Facilitate workplace inspections and internal audits, monitoring compliance to the incident reporting and investigation process.
• Contribute to and adopt ideas that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of the overall WHS function.

Requirements:
• Australian Residential construction experience, with the ability to train trades and Site Managers.
• Completed Diploma Occupational Health and Safety and hold a White Card, trade or scaffold ticket.
• First Aid Certificate and a valid driver's licence.
• Extensive knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems and relevant WHS Acts and Regulations.
• High computer proficiency in MS Office suite of products, including report writing ability.
