About the Role

Mater's Occupational Therapy department is seeking a skilled professional to join the team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will work 15 hours per week at our South Brisbane campus in the Day Therapy Unit.

The Occupational Therapy department provides public and private health services across various clinical specialties, including general medical, surgical, orthopaedics, neurosciences, cancer care, rehabilitation, lymphoedema, psychosocial/mental health, neonatology, and paediatrics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking routine clinical practice within established protocols to achieve patient-centered outcomes
  • Applying clinical judgment to more complex cases under supervision
  • Contributing to developing clinical practices, procedures, and protocols within multidisciplinary teams
  • Participating in quality and service improvement activities to enhance clinical services and patient outcomes
  • Liaising with patients, families, carers, and external agencies to facilitate patient-centered care
  • Engaging in professional development activities to enhance clinical practice and expertise
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility for registration with AHPRA
  • Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment and intervention within a day therapy rehabilitation setting
  • Ability to apply occupational therapy principles in a day therapy rehabilitation environment
