Land Supply and Development Monitoring Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled leader to manage our land supply and development monitoring initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regional planning, spatial analysis, and project management.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of experts to compile, assess, and interrogate complex land supply and demand information. This will involve the preparation and review of detailed technical reports and advice on regional planning and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead operational delivery of land supply and development monitoring analysis, including preparation and review of reporting outputs associated with data and monitoring undertaken in relation to regional planning and investment decisions.
  • Manage overall delivery of land supply and development monitoring projects, ensuring outputs are relevant to a range of audiences (public facing documents and technical data and information reporting), and best practice method guidance for maintaining datasets related to land supply and development measurement.
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team, including contractors, to deliver high-quality outputs and advice under various and regular pressures.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and data custodians, including other state agencies, local governments, infrastructure agencies, industry peak bodies, technical experts and developers.
  • Coordinate, lead and attend meetings, forums, committees and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic intelligence in support of growth and development in regions while remaining cognizant of Government policies, including protecting each region's natural resources, social development and broader interests of the state.
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to government about implications of policy changes identified to respond to supply and demand issues.
  • Prepare and review detailed technical and strategic advice about regional planning, providing support to senior management and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management, project teams, government agencies and external stakeholders to ensure regional and spatial planning project outcomes are achieved.
  • Coordinate and prepare quality correspondence, submissions, presentations, briefs and reports on complex and sensitive issues for delivery of projects.
  • Identify opportunities and develop strategies that will have a positive impact on delivery of regional planning projects and escalate these ideas to management.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship, support and share technical skills with the team and other officers in the agency.
  • Provide strategic advice and support in relation to linkages between regional plans and economic, social and environmental data and trends and regional plans.
