Regional Planning Manager
A key role exists within the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning for a skilled Regional Planning Manager.

The Queensland Government has made a commitment to delivering new regional plans and supporting infrastructure plans across the state to achieve one million homes by 2044.

As a Senior Manager, you will lead a team in reviewing and implementing regional plans across Queensland. This presents an opportunity to shape land use planning, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and drive strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of regional plans to meet government election commitments.
  • Strategically allocating resources to manage staff and accomplish work goals, driving productivity and performance review.
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, coaching, and developing staff to provide advice on land use planning issues and foster a workplace culture consistent with departmental values.
  • Coordinating research, analysis, and interpretation of complex data and trends to inform regional plan policies under relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaboratively solving complex problems, building a case for change, and communicating outcomes effectively.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will:

  • Coordinate meetings, consultations, forums, committees, and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with project stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, local governments, infrastructure entities, industry associations, and technical experts.
  • Prepare high-quality correspondence, submissions, presentations, briefs, and reports on complex and sensitive issues for project delivery.
