Job Overview

As a kitchen steward, you play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our kitchens. This includes operating dishwashing machinery to ensure crockery and kitchen implements are washed and sanitized.

Maintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators is also an essential part of your duties. You will be responsible for ensuring everything is organized and properly stored.

You will assist with receiving and storage of goods, facilitate the reporting of workplace hazards to relevant personnel, and support the chef and kitchen team in basic food preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate dishwashing machinery to wash and sanitize crockery and kitchen implements.
  • Maintain food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators, ensuring everything is organized and properly stored.
  • Assist with receiving and storage of goods.
  • Facilitate the reporting of workplace hazards to the relevant personnel.
  • Assist the chef and kitchen team in basic food preparation, including cutting, peeling, and washing ingredients.
  • Ensure hygiene and safety standards are met.
  • Use safety equipment as directed or required in safety procedures.
