Job Title: Manager | Rail Safety

We are seeking an experienced professional to contribute to a safe, efficient and effective network by improving capacity, reliability, and safety.

As a Manager - Rail Safety, you will work within our Infrastructure Delivery Office to implement rail and WHS safety processes developed for projects within the office.

  1. Develop and implement policies, guidelines, procedures, programs, and initiatives to support safety processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards.
  2. Implement Project Safety Assurance activities.
  3. Maintain oversight of safety assurance activities by contracted entities.
  4. Prepare and present regular reports on safety assurance and management activities to project and program leadership teams.
  5. Lead and support Project safety management activities, including risk assessment, safety observations, and risk mitigation planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  3. Manage safety assurance activities.
  4. Report on safety performance.
  5. Support project safety management.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Health and Safety, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience working on large rail or major infrastructure projects.
  • ICAM lead investigator (preferred).
  • Internal Auditor qualifications (preferred).
  • Experience working with relevant WHS acts, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines, and AS/ISO standards.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
