Fitter Operator

We are seeking a reliable and skilled fitter operator to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in Smithfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery, carrying out repairs and troubleshooting issues.
This is a permanent placement with a 7-day rotating roster, consisting of 2 x day shifts, 2 x night shifts and 4 x days off. Our client is a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and requires fitter operators who can work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities:- Undertaking repairs and general maintenance to machinery and plant equipment
- Troubleshooting, fault finding, and component changing
- Identifying and implementing ways to improve process efficiency
- Operating and maintaining machinery
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a fitter operator or in a similar position (preferably with a mechanical, machinist or boilermaker background)
- Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of reliability and attendance
- Willingness to undergo regular medical checks and police clearance
