Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Specialist to join our Australian Investment Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and tax reporting to a diverse range of investment manager and superannuation fund clients. You will also act as an escalation point for client queries and establish a deep understanding of client requirements.

You will work closely with other teams to achieve client reporting objectives and manage new client onboarding processes. Your role will involve reviewing financial statements and templates, proactively identifying and improving current core processes and procedures, and delivering training and coaching to junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing financial statements and templates to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Delivering training and coaching to junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Working closely with other teams to achieve client reporting objectives
  • Managing new client onboarding processes and ensuring seamless integration
  • Acting as an escalation point for client queries and providing expert guidance
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess extensive experience working within a custodian, superannuation fund, or investment manager accounting/tax team. You should have a strong technical understanding of accounting and tax concepts as they relate to Managed Investment Schemes (MISs) and Superannuation funds. A high-level understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Tax rules is essential, as well as proficiency in Excel.

A degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance, ideally with a CA or CPA qualification, is highly desirable. Previous experience in managing a small/medium team is also beneficial. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively, think critically, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
