About the Role

As part of our vision to redefine the aluminium industry for a sustainable future, we're designing a cutting-edge refinery with net zero carbon emissions.

The Remote Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering a complete end-to-end strategy and roadmap that integrates with our Refinery of the Future design.

This involves utilising remote operating models and tools to achieve maximum product output safely and efficiently throughout the facility life.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering, development, and operations management within large corporate environments, preferably within the mining, resources, and construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement a Remote Operating Strategy:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive remote operating framework to ensure safe and efficient operation of the refinery.
  • Utilise data analytics and predictive tools to drive real-time visibility, utilisation, and availability of people, capabilities, physical equipment, and materials.
Lead Cross-Functional Teams:
  • Motivate and lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, open communication, and continuous improvement.
Implement Lean Principles:
  • Apply lean principles to identify highly reliable equipment, minimising capital requirements and human intervention.
  • Optimise workflows to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management (postgraduate studies desirable).
  • Extensive experience in operations management, project delivery, and contractor management.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and effective influencing abilities.
