Emergency Management Opportunity
">This role offers a challenging and rewarding career path for an experienced Emergency Management professional.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Council's emergency management, bushfire, and public safety obligations. This includes managing the Council's Emergency Management Framework, supporting the Port Stephens Local Emergency Management Committee, and acting as LEMO when necessary.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing effective emergency management strategies
- Providing specialist advice to Council, committees, and business units regarding emergency management
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop preparedness for response to natural disasters and emergencies
About the Role
This is a permanent opportunity working full-time 35 hours per week, with access to flexible working arrangements. We offer a competitive salary range, plus superannuation, motor vehicle allowance, and retention payment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Proven experience in emergency management, preferably in a local government setting
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
