Tool Design Engineer

Our team is responsible for designing and developing tools used in the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies. We are seeking a skilled Tool Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to this exciting project.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve tooling issues encountered during production
  • Assess and dispose of tool non-conformance issues
  • Develop and prepare tooling designs and drawings for new and modified production tooling
  • Maintain tool configuration control using the BAA TRACS database system
  • Provide technical support to Tool Quality Assurance, including analysis and verification of data produced by coordinate measuring machines
  • Liaise with internal and external suppliers to achieve timely and cost-effective tool modification/manufacture
  • Ensure that tooling designs comply with government and state legislation and regulations related to OH&S requirements
  • Deliver work assignments efficiently and effectively

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with CATIA V5 software is desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance processes and procedures
  • Understanding of OH&S implications within the field
  • Proficient in using email, databases, Internet, and Microsoft Windows & Office suite of tools
