Mental Health Support Professional

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to student welfare in an academic setting. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in psychology and utilise their skills for impactful mental health support.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver professional counselling services to students and staff with discretion and confidentiality.
- Engage with diverse student cohorts, contributing to targeted mental health resources and awareness campaigns.
- Conduct professional assessments and deliver counselling responses and interventions to individuals and groups.
We seek an experienced counsellor with:
- A relevant qualification in psychology, registered with AHPRA or equivalent, and eligibility to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- A minimum 2 years' experience working with people experiencing complex mental health issues and supporting victims/survivors of gender violence and sexual harm.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse cohorts, offering targeted support across a range of problems pertinent to students.
- Proven ability to respond effectively to critical incidents and traumatic events.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capacity to engage effectively with senior leaders, staff and students.
