Children Counsellor Role

About this role:

We are seeking an experienced Children's Counsellor to join our team in delivering quality professional counselling services to children and young people impacted by family and domestic violence. The role involves providing trauma-informed interventions, case management, and support for healing.

The successful candidate will work alongside a dedicated team to help clients process trauma, build resilience, and restore safe family functioning. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing counselling, case management, and trauma-informed interventions to children and young people.
  • Conducting assessments and creating tailored support plans based on clients' needs.
  • Developing and maintaining respectful, collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Cofacilitating groups and supporting family functioning through targeted interventions.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience providing child counselling and working with families experiencing complex needs, including family and domestic violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management, intake, assessment, and referral.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
