Role Summary:

As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, you will engage directly with students who have unique educational requirements, ensuring they receive tailored support to enhance their learning experience. You will work collaboratively with educators and specialists to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in a UK Primary School setting.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service is preferred.
  • Experience with children with SEND in educational or similar environments.
  • Solid understanding of various SEND conditions and effective support strategies.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to student success.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certification, are advantageous but not mandatory.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, either on a one-on-one basis or in small groups, tailored to their specific needs.
  • Assist in lesson planning and the delivery of educational activities, modifying materials and teaching methods as necessary.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility requirements when needed.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to educators and families.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
