Job Overview

The CFO is responsible for providing strategic direction to senior management and overseeing all aspects of Finance, including Payroll, G/L, Tax, and Statutory Accounting. The goal is to drive business growth while minimizing company exposure through effective risk management and loss prevention.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive financial objectives and strategies to achieve long-term success.
  • Review and approve operating budgets, monitor performance, and forecast financial results to inform decision-making.
  • Provide data-driven insights on expense and gross margin analysis, driving corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Ensure accurate accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, and accrual analysis to maintain financial integrity.
  • Participate in operating review meetings, provide expert guidance, and make informed decisions that align with business objectives.
  • Implement decisions based on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Drive business outcomes through strategic planning, process improvement, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience serving in senior management positions with major retailers or department store arenas; strong retail background.
  • Strong professional experience in Finance: Accounting, Payroll, G/L, Tax, and Risk Management.
  • Excellent financial analysis ability with a track record of expense control and meeting budgets.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and Australian financial regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to attract high-caliber talent and demonstrate supervisory skills.
