Laboratory Professional

We are seeking an experienced and skilled laboratory professional to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing laboratory materials, maintaining hazardous substance registers, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with teaching staff to allocate materials and support practical lessons.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and manage laboratory materials (solutions, stains, media, etc.) while ensuring safe storage, handling, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
- Assist with maintaining hazardous substance registers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and emergency equipment.
- Conduct risk assessments, maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and assist with the ordering of chemicals and equipment.
- Clean, maintain laboratory apparatus, and organizing the setup of materials, rooms, and displays for events such as Open Days.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to allocate materials, assist in classroom setup, and support practical lessons.
- Advise staff on the technical aspects of practical equipment, contribute to developing practical activities, and participate in process improvements and initiatives.
- Certificate IV Laboratory Techniques or equivalent science qualification.
- Previous experience as a laboratory professional in a secondary school is desirable.
- Knowledge of Safe Chemical storage and safe use of Laboratory equipment in accordance with current regulations.
- Highly competent in ICT and database management.
- High levels of organisational and team collaborative skills.
- Level 1 or 2 First Aid Certificate is desirable.
- Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check.
