Gateway Network Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced network engineer to join our team in supporting the Gateway Project within a secure defence environment.

  • Assist in the design, build, and integration of network elements within a standalone defence network environment.
  • Provide SME-level advice on gateway project architecture, integration, and technical implementation.
  • Deliver level 3 support for gateway infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document network specifications including detailed enclave designs, schematics, and build instructions.

  • Networking & Security:

  • Infrastructure & Security Architecture:
    • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Bastion Hosts, Jump Boxes
    • Reverse Proxy, NAT, VPN, DNS, Mail Servers
    • IDS/IPS, SSL termination, F5 BIG-IP, Citrix NetScaler
  • Traffic Engineering:
    • VLAN, VRF, VDC, VR
    • BGP, Policy-Based Routing (PBR), Port Security
    • 802.1x NAC, ACLs, IPSec, TrustSec, MacSec
  • Monitoring & Analytics:
    • Splunk, Graylog, Dynatrace, ELK Stack, or equivalent SIEM tools
    • Active/passive network taps for traffic collection and analysis
  • Mandatory Requirements:
    • Current AGSVA NV2 Security Clearance
    • 15–20 years' ICT experience, ideally within Defence environments
    • Recognised certifications highly regarded:
    • Red Hat OpenShift Architect/Designer
