Poultry Farm Hand

This position is responsible for ensuring the optimal environment for layer hens to achieve maximum production daily, while maintaining strict animal welfare protocols.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular checks on feed, water, and lighting systems, as well as performing general maintenance on equipment as needed;
- Monitoring environmental conditions to ensure the comfort and well-being of the birds;
- Inspecting bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for efficient flow;
- Performing general cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as required;
- Other duties as assigned.

Key qualifications include:
- Local residence or willingness to relocate to the area;
- Ability to strictly adhere to animal welfare guidelines and regulations;
- Previous experience in the poultry industry is not essential, but would be highly regarded;
- Current valid driver's license;
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity and work in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work co-operatively with internal and external contacts;
- Willingness to adhere to all health and safety, bio-security, and operational requirements;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Reliability, punctuality, and motivation;
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
