Poultry Hand for Livestock and Food Production

McLean Farms is a leading agri-business based in Pittsworth, Queensland, Australia. As a Poultry Hand, you will play a crucial role in managing the environment to provide optimal conditions for layer hens to achieve maximum production daily.
About the Role
This is a full-time position responsible for assisting in managing the environment, animal welfare, and daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting a collaborative working environment and be willing to work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily checks on feed, water, and lighting systems, including general maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor and maintain a comfortable environment for the birds, ensuring their welfare and safety.
- Conduct regular inspections on bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for ease of flow.
- Perform general cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as required.
- Other duties as required.
About You
- Must be willing to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- Previous experience in the poultry industry is not essential, but would be highly regarded.
- Current valid drivers' license.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated with good attention to detail.
