Job Title: Senior Rail Operations Project Manager

About the Role:

The Senior Rail Operations Project Manager will be responsible for developing operating plans for freight and passenger rail projects, creating and delivering planning documents, reports, and presentations describing rail operations. This role requires a high level of expertise in rail operations and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing operating plans for freight and passenger rail projects.
  • Creating and delivering planning documents, reports, and presentations describing rail operations.
  • Advising and mentoring rail traffic controller modelers.
  • Analyzing outputs.
  • Providing rail operations expertise to internal teams.
  • Maintaining relationships with clients and freight and public agency officials.
  • Participating in industry associations and events.
  • Leading proposal development efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as transportation engineering or logistics).
  • 10+ years of experience in the rail industry, with at least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of U.S. and Canadian freight rail operations.
  • Experience in railroad operations or planning.
  • 15+ years of experience in the industry.
  • Understanding of passenger rail interactions.
  • Experience with project documentation and grant applications.
  • Knowledge of rail traffic controller modeling.
