Job Overview
Murdoch Children's Research Institute seeks a skilled Communications Specialist to help tell the story of GenV, a groundbreaking research program transforming child health. This role involves coordinating media events, managing press outreach, and developing engaging content for social media.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful research that makes a significant difference in children's lives. As a Communications Specialist, you will work closely with the GenV team and external partners to deliver internal and external communications, raise awareness, and showcase GenV's unique capabilities. Your responsibilities will include revising and implementing GenV's Communication Strategy, coordinating media events, and managing GenV's social media channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate media events and manage press outreach.
  • Develop engaging content for social media, including videography.
  • Maintain and update the GenV website.
  • Create and distribute stakeholder newsletters.
  • Review, implement, and evaluate the impact of GenV's communication strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree or higher qualification in Communications, Media, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. You must have at least 6 years of experience in Communications, Media, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as experience communicating to a wide range of stakeholders and audiences. Experience with managing and content development for social media platforms is also required.
