As a proactive and reliable Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will play a vital role in supporting our school community. This hands-on position is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to contribute to a friendly, community-focused environment.

The successful applicant will be appointed to a Temporary Part-Time capacity, working 20 hours per fortnight over 2 days per week. This role is an excellent opportunity for progression as the successful candidate will have eligibility to move up to the next classification once specific criteria are met or demonstrated.

We are looking for a practical and dependable individual who enjoys working in a supportive rural school setting. You will be responsible for a range of day-to-day activities including delivering and collecting mail, recording and delivering messages, printing and photocopying, preparing classrooms for examinations, and maintaining various registers.

You will also be required to support a variety of security duties at the school, including using and maintaining the school security systems, banking of school funds, and locking and unlocking buildings within core hours. Additionally, you will assist with clearing and hosing of drains and gutters, collection of waste, food and paper on school grounds, and coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required.

It is essential that you ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including maintenance of a safe work environment, safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuel, and bringing to appropriate attention any safety hazards. You will also be responsible for managing equipment records and maintaining tools and equipment for repair services.

  • **Key Responsibilities:**
  • Deliver and collect mail, parcels and documents; record and deliver messages; print and photocopy.
  • Prepare classrooms for examinations and prepare activity/assembly halls, including moving/arranging furniture and seating.
  • Maintain various registers; stocktake and record/engrave school equipment/furniture and assets.
  • Support a variety of security duties, including using and maintaining the school security systems; banking of school funds; locking and unlocking buildings within core hours.
  • Assist with clearing and hosing of drains and gutters; collection of waste, food and paper on school grounds.
