Auto Technician Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Auto Technician to join our team at the NSW Ambulance Queanbeyan Workshop. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work on maintaining and servicing ambulances and support vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for paramedics to respond to emergencies.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with light commercial vehicles, including Mercedes Benz Sprinter type vehicles, and possess knowledge of vehicle electrical component systems, fault diagnosis, and rectification.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to attend to breakdowns/emergency repairs and undertake vehicle diagnostic testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and service ambulances and support vehicles to ensure they are safe and reliable for paramedics to respond to emergencies.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with vehicles.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure all vehicles are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Attend to breakdowns/emergency repairs and undertake vehicle diagnostic testing.
Requirements
  • Possession of a current Motor Mechanic Trade Certificate (light vehicle mechanical).
  • Current valid driving license to operate NSW Ambulance vehicles.
  • Demonstrated experience with light commercial vehicles such as, Mercedes Benz Sprinter type vehicles and special purpose-built equipment.
  • Ability to attend to breakdowns/emergency repairs and undertake vehicle diagnostic testing.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical component systems, fault diagnosis and rectification.
