Your role as a Graduate Environmental Compliance & Protection Officer involves supporting the enforcement of environmental and public health regulations through high standard customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making in alignment with Council Values.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing tasks within appropriate time frames and workloads to ensure timely completion.
  • Developing a working knowledge of legislation including Local Government Act, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Protection of the Environment Operations Act, Contaminated Land Management Act, Boarding House Act, Swimming Pool Act, and Public Health Act.
  • Assisting with evidence gathering, accurate note taking, report writing, and presenting information.
  • Collaborating with a team and assisting staff where required.

About You:

We are looking for a motivated individual who possesses:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or an equivalent qualification accredited by Environmental Health Australia or nearing completion.
  • A current C Class driver's license.
