Job Title: Plant Operator Excavation

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Operator Excavation to join our team.

Job Description:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide a high level of service in the construction and maintenance of Council roads and drainage infrastructure. You will be responsible for operating, servicing and maintaining excavators or backhoes safely and effectively for general earthworks, roadworks, water and sewer construction and maintenance, concrete and drainage works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery including excavators, backhoes and concrete mixers.
  • Conduct daily checks on equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Assist with set out works, establish line and level from reference points, and check accuracy of works during projects.
  • Perform work near underground and overhead services with utility providers' duty of care.
  • Use various attachments associated with machinery including laser levelling equipment for trenching and drainage.

Requirements:

  • SafeWork Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card).
  • Class MR Driver Licence.
  • Nationally accredited certificate or proven competency for LE – Excavator.
  • Nationally accredited certificate for Work Near Overhead Powerlines.
  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller.
  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Implement Traffic Control Plans.
  • SafeWork approved High Risk Licence for DG – Dogging.
