Service Now Developer Job Summary

As a Service Now developer, you will play a key role in implementing, configuring, and maintaining the Service Now platform. Your primary focus will be on driving business process automation and delivering IT services management solutions to improve efficiency across various business functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the full Service Now implementation lifecycle, including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Design and configure Service Now modules such as ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change Management), ITOM, HRSD, and others based on business needs.
  • Develop integrations between Service Now and other enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, and other relevant technologies.
  • Implement workflows, business rules, and automation to streamline processes and improve user experience.
  • Work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and other Service Now professionals to align solutions with organisational goals.
  • Provide post-implementation support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the Service Now platform.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, configurations, and solutions.
  • Ensure that best practices and ITIL frameworks are followed.
  • Assist with upgrades, patches, and new releases to ensure platform stability and enhancement of functionality.
  • Provide training and support to end users and junior team members as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in working with Service Now (Developer, Consultant, or Administrator roles).
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management.
  • Familiarity with Service Now modules like HRSD, ITOM, Virtual Agent, Application Portfolio Management (APM), etc.
  • Expertise in Service Now scripting (e.g., Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, etc.).
  • Experience in developing Service Now integrations using REST, SOAP, Web Services, and other integration techniques.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL best practices.
  • Experience in working with Agile methodologies.
  • Preferred: Service Now certifications such as Certified System Administrator, Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, etc.).
  • Experience with Service Now Discovery, Performance Analytics, Orchestration, and Security Incident Response.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
