Job Title: Rail Infrastructure Strategist

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Rail Infrastructure Strategist to lead the development of strategic asset management plans for heavy rail corridors.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in strategic asset management, preferably within the heavy rail or infrastructure sector, and strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at a senior level.

About this role:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop strategic asset management plans that meet business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of long-term Strategic Asset and Services Plans (SASP) and Asset and Services Plans (ASP) for heavy rail corridors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Transport for NSW and Treasury frameworks.
  • Provide technical assurance across safety, environmental compliance, maintenance delivery, and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as the designated asset owner within governance frameworks, providing oversight and approval for program changes related to acquisition, sustainment, renewal, and divestment.

About you:

  • Extensive experience in strategic asset management, preferably within heavy rail or a similar infrastructure sector.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence at a senior level within large, complex organisations.
  • Proven capability in risk and governance management, with a track record of delivering technically sound and compliant asset strategies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and with diverse external parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement in a complex and evolving operational environment.
