Family Therapy Role Overview

Job Description

The Family Therapist will provide family therapy services to clients utilizing the FFT-CW model. This involves working with families where children are at risk of child protection and out-of-home care placement.

The primary objective is to reduce risk within the family home. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing therapy sessions, assessing client needs, and developing individualized plans to achieve desired outcomes.

This is a full-time fixed-term contract opportunity based in Queanbeyan NSW. The position reports to the Family Therapist Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide family therapy services to clients utilizing the FFT-CW model
  • Assess client needs and develop individualized plans
  • Conduct regular therapy sessions with clients and their families
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's qualification in Social Work or Psychology/Aboriginal Health Worker/Community Welfare Worker or Master of Counselling
  • Post-graduate training in relevant child, adolescent, and family clinical practice, family therapy, and systemic thinking (strongly preferred)
  • Clinical experience working with families/adolescents (strongly preferred)
