Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor/Associate Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor/Associate Director to join our team at Design And Build Recruitment. As a key member of our construction advisory firm, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our construction projects, with a particular focus on building and/or infrastructure, including rail.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for construction projects, considering building and/or infrastructure (rail) requirements.
* Conduct thorough quantity take-offs, ensuring accurate measurement of materials, labor, and equipment.
* Monitor and manage project budgets, tracking costs, and providing regular reports on financial performance.
* Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including bills of quantities and contract documentation.
* Collaborate with the procurement team to obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
* Conduct thorough cost analysis, identifying areas for cost reduction and value engineering.
* Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors, promoting their professional development.
* Collaborate closely with project teams to resolve any cost-related issues and ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Master's degree is a plus.
* Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on infrastructure (rail) projects.
* In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying practices, construction methodologies, and cost control principles.
* Strong experience in preparing cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender documentation.
* Proficient in using industry-standard software such as Cost X, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
* Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
