We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Officer to join our Learning Diversity Team at Simonds Catholic College. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support to teachers and students in the classroom, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist teachers and students in the classroom under the direction of the Learning Diversity Coordinator
* Work closely with students with diverse learning profiles, adapting behavior management techniques to meet individual needs
* Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, and OCD
* Enforce routine and boundaries, promoting a positive and respectful classroom environment
* Develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with colleagues and parents
Requirements:
* Strong commitment to boys' education and the values and ethos of Catholic education
* Thorough understanding and adherence to Ministerial Order 1359 on Child Safety
* Commitment to upholding a zero-tolerance attitude towards child abuse and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students
* Understanding of strategies that promote cultural safety, accessibility, and wellbeing for Aboriginal children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disabilities
