Overview
The Queensland Law Society is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide high-level legal advice to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver expert written and oral legal advice on complex matters.
- Manage risk exposure by reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts and commercial activities.
- Prepare statements of reasons for administrative decisions.
- Develop and update policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Process applications for information access.
- Compile submissions to decision-makers, government entities, and other relevant bodies.
- A bachelor's degree in law or Australian lawyer admissions with an unrestricted Queensland practicing certificate.
- Strong critical and strategic analysis skills with demonstrated ability to produce practical solutions to complex issues.
- Minimum 7+ years of PAE experience, preferably 4 years in corporate/commercial litigation.
- Prior in-house experience and administrative roles highly regarded.
- Knowledge of government structures and processes valued.

- This position may require a Criminal History Records check. A criminal history does not necessarily disqualify a prospective candidate from selection.
