Job Title: Metro Ethernet Engineer

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced engineer to join our team as a Metro Ethernet Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex network solutions using the latest technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Design and implement metro Ethernet networks
  • Configure VLANs on ASR switches using NSO scripting
  • Configure port configurations on ASR switches and terminate at customer premises
  • Configure LAGs on ASR switches through IP-RDM according to design
  • Configure VPLS and VLL circuits
  • Create customized start-up configuration files and provision custom start-up templates
  • Add devices to provision and poll devices using provision
  • Synchronize devices to provision and troubleshoot
  • Add NTU/AS Egress NNI shaping (EoSDH Links) - EoSDH link setup
  • Perform service commissioning testing, including port commands, traffic tests, remote MEPS, Ethernet loopback tests, 802.1ag link trace, bandwidth tests, and configuration tests
  • Proactively perform on activities and cutovers
  • Adhere to MOP's shared and follow procedures involved
  • Handle multiple applications or databases effectively to remove customer asset records
  • Creating, maintaining, and following technical procedures and documentation
  • Working closely with external and internal technical teams involved

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Technology graduation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • CCNA certified
  • Exposure in Telstra network arena
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Capability of working autonomously and collaboratively in teams
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • SME level understanding SME understanding of the following systems: Provision, IP-RDM, IPDM, Rapid, Putty, Drake, Ideal, Test, and Diagnosis
