Summary

The Network Solution Architect is a cornerstone in the enterprise's digital ecosystem—responsible for building and maintaining robust, secure, and future-proof network infrastructures. By leveraging deep technical expertise, strategic foresight, and cross-functional collaboration, the architect ensures that enterprise networks act as enablers of innovation, agility, and business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and define network topologies across LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud, and data center environments.
  • Develop scalable and secure network blueprints that meet current and future business needs.
  • Lead architecture reviews and ensure network designs comply with enterprise standards and security policies.
  1. 2. Technology Evaluation & Network Solutioning:
    • Evaluate emerging network technologies, vendor products, and industry standards.
    • Recommend and architect end-to-end network solutions based on cost, performance, and business fit.
    • Run pilot programs to assess new network hardware, software, and platforms.
  2. 3. Network Implementation Oversight:
    • Provide guidance and oversight during the deployment of new network infrastructure, upgrades, or transformation projects.
    • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure networks are configured correctly and perform to specification.
    • Lead integration efforts across hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-prem network environments.
  3. 4. Network Performance & Optimization:
    • Continuously monitor and analyze network traffic, performance, and capacity trends.
    • Identify areas of degradation or inefficiencies and implement optimization strategies.
    • Establish and track network KPIs to ensure SLAs and uptime requirements are met.
  4. 5. Network Security & Risk Mitigation:
    • Design and implement robust network security architectures, including segmentation, encryption, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and zero-trust models.
    • Ensure all network configurations adhere to compliance frameworks and enterprise risk management standards.
    • Support incident response and conduct root cause analysis of network-related breaches or issues.
  5. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, application, and business teams to align network strategy with enterprise goals.
    • Work with external vendors and service providers to ensure consistent service and support for critical network services.
    • Act as a technical authority and advisor for all network-related initiatives.
  6. 7. Network Documentation & Governance:
    • Maintain thorough documentation of network architecture, configurations, standards, and procedures.
    • Establish governance models to manage network changes, upgrades, and lifecycle planning.
    • Train and mentor engineering teams on network architecture principles and emerging technologies.
Technical Networking Expertise
  • Deep understanding of enterprise networking technologies including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless LAN.
  • Proficient in network automation, scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible), and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, PRTG, or NetFlow.
  • Strong experience with cloud networking architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), including transit gateways, VPC/VNet design, and hybrid connectivity.
Strategic Network Thinking
  • Ability to define long-term network roadmaps that align with business strategy and technological evolution.
  • Skilled at translating complex business needs into technically sound network designs.
Problem Solving & Troubleshooting
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly diagnose and resolve network performance, reliability, and security issues.
  • Ability to drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement in network operations.
  • Clear, confident communicator—able to explain network concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership presence in cross-functional teams, influencing decision-making and building trust.
Project & Change Management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale network transformation and migration projects.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, and DevOps principles to support smooth project execution and network lifecycle management.
