Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Advisor to provide procurement support to all business units, ensuring value for money outcomes are realised. The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary or industry qualifications in procurement and extensive experience in a procurement role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake complex and non-complex procurement processes, including planning and tendering, to deliver requirements within agreed timeframes and budget.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, providing clear direction, assistance, and services to ensure compliance with relevant policies and principles.
  • Maintain regular communications with stakeholders to ensure team cohesion and a common approach to activities.
  • Provide input into regular reporting cycles and on an ad hoc basis as requested.
  • Liaise between internal clients and the legal advisor to support contract documentation.
  • Assist in identifying contract risks and emerging issues.
  • Provide general commercial advice on addressing and resolving issues arising from reviews.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications in procurement or a similar discipline.
  • Extensive experience in a procurement role or a similar discipline.
  • Knowledge of VGPB requirements, Social Procurement, and Local Jobs First obligations.
  • Experience in public sector governance and legislative framework of Government procurement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in drafting and development of sourcing and/or contract documents.
  • Problem solving, research, and analytical skills, including data analysis and management systems.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Familiarity with State Purchasing Contracts and sourcing systems.
