Job Opportunity:
Emergency Mental Health ProfessionalWe are seeking experienced professionals to join our Emergency Mental Health Team in a part-time capacity.
The successful candidates will work collaboratively with emergency department staff to manage mental health presentations, provide support to families and carers, liaise with emergency services, and contribute to research and evaluation activities.
Key Responsibilities- Purposefully engage children, adolescents and their families in high-quality recovery-focused care through assessment and intervention.
- Provide leadership by modelling a high standard of professional and interpersonal skills, attitudes and behaviours.
- Build and maintain relationships with emergency department staff, consultant psychiatrists, community agencies and maximise service coordination and cooperation.
- Complete accurate, timely and professional clinical record keeping and documentation.
- Demonstrated expert clinical skills and experience in child and adolescent mental health care within a trauma-informed framework.
- Clinical skills and experience in effective and efficient child and adolescent triage, assessment and mental health care.
- Able to build and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders to maximise service coordination.
- Capacity to provide systemic containment, education and support predominantly to medical systems of care, DFFHS, and youth residential care services.
The Royal Children's Hospital provides urgent medical care to children and adolescents. Our Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, seeing approximately 90,000 patients each year.
The emergency department is staffed by a diverse team of medical professionals, including nurse practitioners, nursing teams, clerical staff, allied health professionals and administrative staff.
