Quality Systems Manager

We are seeking a Quality Systems Manager to join our defence engineering and manufacturing team.

This is a full-time, permanent onsite position based in the South Canberra district.

About the Role
  • Oversee quality systems: Conduct internal audits, monitor non-conformance trends, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Develop quality strategy plans: Policies, procedures, and practices as described in the Management System.
  • Analyse statistical data: Review and use quality management software to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain documentation: Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and control records.
  • Risk assessments: Conduct risk assessments and address potential quality issues.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with teams to achieve product, service, and asset performance targets.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quality, Business, Management, Mathematics, or a related field would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience in coordinating quality management activities in a similar role (e.g. Quality Manager, Lead Auditor, Quality Engineer / Lead / Supervisor / Manager etc.).
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, tools, and relevant ISO standards.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in defence or equivalent regulated industries would be beneficial (e.g. manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, mining, power, utilities, telco, rail etc.).

Eligibility: To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – NV1.
