Residential Care Worker

About this role

This is a dynamic position where you will work closely with young individuals who have faced trauma and require support. As a Residential Care Worker, your primary focus will be on providing direct guidance and care to our residents.

The role involves strengthening relationships with the residents by teaching life skills and supporting their social and emotional development. Your day-to-day activities may include cooking meals, taking them to appointments or sports, dropping them off at school, and engaging in activities like fishing or arts and crafts.

You will also take care of household duties and complete daily case notes. We are looking for resilient problem solvers who are dedicated to making a positive impact.

The role requires availability to work a 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

You will receive support from a House Supervisor and a team of professionals, including Case Managers, Therapeutic Specialists, and Coordinators. They will guide you, provide advice and assistance when needed, and share their expertise to ensure your success.

Requirements

In order to be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Valid and Current Driver's Licence
  • A Valid and Current Workers With Children's Check
  • A Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screeners Check
  • A Satisfactory Criminal History Check
  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or other similar tertiary qualifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.

Whilst previous experience working with Young People is preferred, we encourage individuals without prior experience who are passionate about making a difference to apply.
