We are seeking a seasoned Category Manager to spearhead the growth of our pet category in Australia.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic thinker who can develop and execute plans to drive sales, identify new opportunities, and build strong relationships with suppliers and customers.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement and sales, with a deep understanding of the pet food manufacturing industry.

They will be responsible for managing existing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure the best terms.

In addition to their technical skills, they must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.

This role requires a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently, but also has the ability to collaborate with others as needed.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, with a focus on sourcing ingredients for the pet food industry locally and overseas
  • Strong sales background, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as science or food science
