About the RoleWe are seeking 3 full-time Executive Chefs to join our kitchen team. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for guiding and supervising our kitchen staff, including apprentices and trainees. You will work closely with our management team to ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and cook high-quality food according to menu guidelines, recipes, and presentation standards.
- Team Leadership: Guide, supervise, and train kitchen staff, including apprentices and trainees, to ensure they meet the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring that stock is rotated, checked, and stored correctly.
- Quality Control: Examine food to ensure quality and presentation meet our high standards.
- Communication: Effective communication with management and other staff members to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Training and Development: Train kitchen staff, including apprentices and trainees, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain occupational health and safety procedures, and follow correct hygiene food handling practices in accordance with HACCP standards.
- Australian Recognised Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Equivalent.
- Team leadership skills and self-motivation.
- 2 years minimum experience in a busy cafe/restaurant environment.
- Attention to detail and personal/professional pride.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of current Food Safety standards and ability to follow strict hygiene procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and meet the physically demanding requirements of a kitchen role.
- 7-day availability with the ability to work on weekends and public holidays.
