Senior Mechanical Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Quantum Sensing division. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of engineers and physicists to develop cutting-edge quantum accelerometers, gravimeters, and magnetometers.

This senior role offers the opportunity to own the design of the mechanical parts of our sensors, including laser systems, ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems, and structural components to connect it all together.

The ideal candidate will be involved in the full lifecycle of our quantum technology, from design and prototyping, testing, verification, and validation, as well as demonstrations in the field.

  • Owning the design, development, integration, and support of our quantum sensors, from requirements through to detailed mechanical design and testing.
  • Collaborating with physicists, engineers, and stakeholders to design the highest-precision measurement systems in the world.
  • Being part of the team responsible for integration, test, and validation of newly commissioned sensors.
  • Working on critical quantum sensing field trials with key industry partners.
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-precision prototype mechanical designs, including analysis, drawings, and tolerancing, assembly, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience designing with Inventor or similar CAD software.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an R&D environment with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
