Our Queensland Cultural Heritage Team provides a wide range of services, including project management, consultation, agreement development, and technical heritage projects. About the Role:

This position is ideal for an early to mid-career cultural heritage professional who has experience in performing consultation tasks with Aboriginal parties and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be comfortable working under supervision and guidance, delivering assessments, advisory services, and technical tasks. This role also involves working on secondments with key clients, initially as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with possibilities of extension or becoming permanent.

About You:

We seek a motivated and enthusiastic individual with:

  • A degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Anthropology, Archaeology, or a relevant field.
  • At least three years of experience in the cultural heritage industry, preferably in a consulting context, although government heritage experience is considered.
  • Demonstrated experience working under Queensland cultural heritage legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
  • A current Australian driver's license.

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Cultural heritage management projects, especially in transport and renewable energy sectors.
  • Consultation with Aboriginal parties.
  • Participation in field surveys and collating survey results.
  • Artefact identification and recording.
  • Preparation of reports and proposals.
  • Ability to work effectively with professionals, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Good communication skills with diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders.
