Occupational Therapist Role

This is a full-time fixed-term position within the Occupational Therapy department, providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to infants, children and adolescents in an acute tertiary paediatric hospital setting.

The role involves working collaboratively with patients and their families to support child development and maximise participation in daily activities.

Responsibilities include providing assessment and discharge plans, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes, and championing innovative intervention practices.

About the Job
  • Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to meet individual patient needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective treatment plans
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through reflection and feedback

Classification for this position will range from VE8-VF3 Grade 1, Year 1 - Grade 1 , Year 5 (base salary $67,849 to $82,540 per annum, plus superannuation)

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate)
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Previous clinical experience working within acute care or a hospital environment
  • Clinical experience working with children
  • Ability to work under supervision and improve performance through feedback and reflective practice
