Role Overview:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Mining Engineer to take on a key leadership role within our organization. As Principal Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of planning and budgeting processes, as well as providing input to the senior leadership team to ensure a strategic Long-Term Operational (LOM) plan is created and executed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining engineering, with experience leading a team and extensive underground planning and scheduling expertise. Practical financial skills, including budgets and cost reporting, are also essential. Additionally, the successful applicant will have a solid understanding of regulatory requirements for employment and safety, as well as proficiency in Deswik mine planning software.
A 1st Class Mine Managers Certificate is highly desirable, but not mandatory. The successful candidate will have a passion for operational excellence and a drive to continuously improve performance and reduce risks.
About the Role:
- Spearhead the development and implementation of comprehensive planning and budgeting strategies.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to create and execute a robust LOM plan.
- Evaluate resources and reserves to inform operational decision-making.
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure seamless operations.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
About You:
- Minimum 10 years of Mining Engineering experience, preferably in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of mining regulations and standards.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
