Job Overview

The role of a Mining Operations Leader involves overseeing mine production activities and personnel to ensure compliance with the mine plan.

This position requires regular inspections and direction of mining operations.

  • Represent the Quarry Manager and ensure personnel in mining areas are not exposed to hazards through regular inspections.
  • Coach and mentor leading hands and your assigned crew to achieve objectives.
  • Manage leave requirements and conduct training gap analysis for each employee.
  • Ensure effective utilisation of the mining fleet to deliver on the mining plan.
  • Complete required statutory and shift specific documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a positive team culture.
  • Conduct interviews for new personnel and manage casual operators as required.
Key Requirements

Applicants should have at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a production mining environment.

  • Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency.
  • WA 'HR' class drivers' licence (minimum).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Front line management (preferred).
  • Demonstrated success as an effective leader.
  • Application of continuous improvement ideas.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation in the WA mining industry.
  • Good computer skills using integrated management systems.
